Kelly 7 16 2CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. (7/16/17) — The Kelly Little Green Men Days Festival is excited to be in the path of the total solar eclipse that will be crossing the U. S. Monday, Aug. 21.

However, for one person, the eclipse will mean so much more, because the winner of a raffle will get to take an Eclipse home, the festival committee announced.

After anticipation was built on the Kelly Little Green Men Days Facebook page, the festival committee made the announcement on Facebook Live at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Auto Masters of Clarksville and the Kelly Little Green Men Days Festival will be raffling a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The winning ticket will be drawn live, on stage, at the Kelly Little Green Men Days Festival in Kelly Aug. 21 follwoing the eclipse event. The winner is not required to be present to win, committee members said.

The Kelly Little Green Men Days Festival will be held Aug. 18-21 at Kelley Station Park, 7490 Old Madisonville Road., Hopkinsville. Each vehicle, as part of the $5 parking fee, will receive one raffle ticket. Extra tickets will be available in the green and white Kelly Community Organization tent during the festival. Prior to the festival, raffle tickets will be available at Auto Masters of Clarksville, Hopkinsville/Christian County Chamber of Commerce or from any festival committee member. Individuals can contact committee members by sending a message to the Kelly Little Green Men Days Facebook page.

Auto Masters of Clarksville, Tennessee will be onsite at the festival with a display of the Eclipse being raffled as well as a selection of other vehicles they have for sale.

The Kelly Little Green Men Days festival is an annual festival in Kelly commemorating "The Kelly Incident," a famous alien landing on a rural farm Aug. 21, 1955 (notice the date!). The fundraiser assists the community in building a community center, maintaining Kelley Station Park and other community projects.
