ky commonwealth logo 2016FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 17, 2017) – Gov. Matt Bevin announced today he has appointed Elizabeth Griffin McCoy of Hopkinsville to the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees. McCoy will replace Kelly Knight Craft, who has resigned to accept a presidential appointment as U.S. Ambassador to Canada.

McCoy is president and CEO of Planters Bank Inc. in Hopkinsville. She also serves on the boards of the following organizations: the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis’ Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council, the Kentucky Chamber, the Hopkinsville Industrial Foundation, the Hopkinsville/Christian County Economic Development Council, and UK’s Gatton College Business Partnership Foundation.

She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, holding both a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in business administration. Additionally, she is a CPA.

“The education that I received at UK has opened many doors and provided me with immeasurable opportunities,” McCoy said in a press release. “It is an honor to be able to give back to the University that has given so much to me.”

McCoy and her husband, Hal, have one son and reside in Christian County.

The UK Board of Trustees consists of 16 members appointed by the governor, two members of the faculty, one member of the non-teaching personnel and one member of the student body.
