fatal collision 2 300EDDYVILLE, Ky. (12/1/17) —  Kentucky State Police is investigating a collision that claimed the life of a Clarksville resident.

At approximately 11:00 p.m. Wednesday, troopers responded to the 39-mile marker along Interstate 24 for a single-vehicle accident.

Preliminary investigation shows Nyreke J. Hutchinson, 19 of Clarksville, was driving a 2008 Buick Lacerne eastbound when he lost control and struck a guardrail, KSP reported. A passenger in the vehicle, Chantel D. Dickey, 20, of Clarksville was ejected from the vehicle and was later pronounced dead at the scene by the Lyon County Coroner.

There were two other passengers in the vehicle at the time of the collision, troopers said. Passengers Antranice S. Phillips, 19 of Clarksville, and Mykatela Toliver, 20 of Hopkinsville along with Hutchinson were transported to Caldwell County Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing by Trooper Gerrick Sullivan. Anyone with information is asked to contact KSP Post 1 at 270-856-3721 or anonymously at 1-800-222-5555.
