Cullen Reynolds copyBOWLING GREEN, Ky. (8/4/17) — Madisonville-North Hopkins graduate Cullen Reynolds is headed into his redshirt sophomore season with the Western Kentucky University football program.

Reynolds (6-5, 325) played in eight games as a redshirt freshman in 2016, primarily as a reserve offensive lineman and contributor on special teams. A native of Madisonville, Reynolds made the move inside and contributed as a center for the Hilltoppers.

Reynolds redshirted his first season with the Hilltoppers in 2015.

As part of a stellar prep career. Reynolds was a Courier-Journal and Associated Press First Team All-State performer at Madisonville-North Hopkins High School. He prepped under the direction of Madisonville-North Hopkins head coach Brock Shoulders. Reynolds helped lead the Maroons to a 10-3 record and a berth in the quarterfinals of the KHSAA 4A State Playoffs. Behind the blocking of Reynolds and some of his teammates, Madisonvill-North Hopkins had three running backs eclipse 850 rushing yards and rushed for 3,658 yards and 50 touchdowns as a team. Reynolds also selected to play in the 2014 Best of the Bluegrass all-star game.

The Hilltoppers ended the 2016 season 11-3 following a 51-31 win over Memphis in the Boca Raton Bowl on December 20, 2016.

Western Kentucky is slated to host in-state rival Eastern Kentucky in a season opener on Sept. 2.
