muhl mustangs1 300GREENVILLE, Ky. (12/1/17) — Muhlenberg County pulled away to defeat visiting Grayson County 60-44 in an early-season boys' high school basketball game on Thursday night.

With the win, Muhlenberg County evened its record to 1-1.

Grayson County opened its latest campaign 0-1 with the loss.

The Mustangs landed in the win column after falling to Marshall County in a season opener two nights earlier. 

Muhlenberg County featured three scorers in double figures. Will Nofsinger led Muhlenberg County to the win, scoring 18 points for the Mustangs.

Alex Johnston tossed in 16 points and Joe McInerney netted 11 points for Muhlenberg County in the victory.

Trey Boggess posted eight points, Alex VanHook flipped in five points and Brody Kennedy contributed two points as the Mustangs prevailed.

Excelling offensively, Muhlenberg County shot 60.5 percent (23-of-38) from the field. The Mustangs shot 66.7 percent (10-of-15) from the free throw line in the win.
