Daviess County HS logoHODGENVILLE, Ky. (12/4/17) — The Daviess County Lady Panthers remained in the loss column at LaRue County over the weekend. Host LaRue County held on to defeat the Lady Panthers 40-35 in the Corky Cox Classic on Saturday.

With the loss, Daviess County dropped to 0-2.

LaRue County improved to 1-1 with the loss.

Offensively for LaRue County, senior Mallory Williams scored her 1,000th career point. She become the 13th Lady Hawk to reach the scoring milestone. Williams led LaRue County with a game-high 14 points.

Sophie Akin accompanied Williams in double figures for the Lady Hawks, scoring 11 points.

LaRue County won despite shooting only 25.6 percent (11-of-43) from the field. Host LaRue County was 6-of-28 (21.4 percent) from 3-point range.

The Lady Hawks were 12-of-19 (63.2 percent) from the free throw line.

Emma Anderson was the only Daviess County player to reach double figures in the scoring column, netting 10 points for the Lady Panthers.

Daviess County shot 32.4 percent (12-of-37) from the field. The Lady Panthers were 8-of-22 (36.4 percent) from 3-point range.

Daviess County finished 3-of-5 from the free throw line.

Additional scorers for Daviess County were Mikayla Hamilton (eight points), Bailey Hume (eight points), Kailey Bowers (three points) and Ragan Howard (three points).
