GREENVILLE, Ky. (12/4/17) – Three Madisonville-North Hopkins players reached double figures in the scoring column as the Maroons defeated host Muhlenberg County 61-50 in the Frist State Bank Tip Off Classic on Saturday.

With the win, Madisonville-North Hopkins moved to 2-0.Madisonville North Hopkins Maroons

Muhlenberg County dropped to 1-2 with the loss.

Ksuan Casey scored a team-high 19 points for the Maroons in the victory. Following Casey in the Madisonville-North Hopkins scoring column, Kenny White netted 13 points and James Gilbert added 12 points.

Madisonville-North Hopkins led at the conclusion of each quarter. The Maroons carried a 29-22 lead into halftime and later added to their lead in the third quarter.

Cade Cunningham scored seven points, Marquise Parker six points, Christian Fields two points and Jordan Vaughn two points for the Maroons.

Will Nofsinger scored a game-high 28 points and pulled down six rebounds for the Mustangs in the loss. Nofsinger was the only Muhlenberg County player to reach double figures in the scoring column. Nolan Davis (eight points), Trey Boggess (seven points), Alex VanHook (five points) and Alex Johnston (two points) provided additional scoring for the Mustangs in the setback.
