BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (2/25/2013) – Glasgow physician Phillip Bale has been appointed to the Western Kentucky University Board of Regents by Gov. Steve Beshear. Bale has replaced Rob Wilkey, who recently resigned. Bale’s term expires on June 30, 2015.
“Education at all levels has been central to my life and I am pleased to have this opportunity for meaningful impact at a university that has long been near and dear to my family’s heart,” Bale said.
Bale founded Glasgow Primary Care in 1979, the Glasgow-Barren County Family Practice Residency Program in 1996 and the Kentucky Center for Prevention of Heart Attack, Stroke and Diabetes in 2007. He is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, a former chair of the Glasgow Indepent Board of Education and a member of The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky board. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Kentucky.
Bale’s wife, Kristen, is a former regent at WKU.
