BOWLING GREEN, KY (11/30/12) – Western Kentucky University will confer degrees to more than 1,300 graduates in two ceremonies during its Fall 2012 Commencement on Dec. 15 at Diddle Arena.
In morning and afternoon ceremonies of its 172nd Commencement, WKU will confer 78 associates degrees, 928 baccalaureate degrees, 18 undergraduate certificates, 316 master’s degrees and nine doctor of education degrees.
The 9:30 a.m. ceremony will include graduate and undergraduate degree candidates in the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, Gordon Ford College of Business and Potter College of Arts & Letters. The 2 p.m. ceremony will include graduate and undergraduate degree candidates in the College of Health and Human Services, University College and Ogden College of Science and Engineering.
WKU President Gary Ransdell will deliver remarks at both ceremonies. The ceremonies also will include the parade of international flags, recognition of honor graduates and the commissioning of seven Army ROTC graduates as second lieutenants. Each graduate also will be given a Class of 2012 WKU red towel to wave at the end of the ceremony.
The commencement ceremonies will be broadcast live by WKYU-PBS and webcast live on WKU Sports.tv streaming video available at www.wkusports.com.
DVDs of the ceremonies are available for $35 each and can be ordered at the commencement ceremony.
