WARREN COUNTY, Ky. (3/25/13) – The Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to an injury collision at the intersection of Morgantown Rd and Briggs Hill on Sunday, March 24, 2013, at approximately 8:36 PM.
According to Sheriff’s Office officials, 23-year-old Camilla Swaim was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier westbound from Briggs Hill and pulled into the path of 58-year-old Alta Brown, who was driving a 2004 Ford Van, traveling northbound on Morgantown Rd. Brown swerved to avoid the collision with Swain, but collided in the southbound lane of Morgantown Rd. Both vehicles came to rest on the southbound side of Morgantown Rd in the ditch line clear the roadway.
Swain had to be extricated from her vehicle due to entrapment.
Both drivers were transported to the Medical Center of Bowling Green for their injuries. Brown is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. Swain was eventually transported to Vanderbilt Hospital by ambulance for life-threatening injuries. Due to weather conditions she was not able to be flown.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected to be a factor.
A Collision Reconstructionist responded to assist with the investigation.
The collision remains under investigation.
