Lexington Weekly Traffic Report April 19-26

lane closures blue 300LEXINGTON, Ky. (4/19/13) – Work done between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
 
SPECIAL NOTES
Traffic could be congested on New Circle Road, Versailles Road, and Man O’ War Boulevard for Keeneland’s Spring Meet. Race days are Wednesdays through Sundays through April 27. There is no racing on Mondays and Tuesdays.
 
The state has closed sections of Georgetown Street and Fourth Street for 30 days for continued construction of the Newtown Pike BCTC campus project. The closure will affect:
• Georgetown Street from Booker Street to Newtown Pike.
• Fourth Street from Henry Street to Newtown Pike.
 
Traffic on Georgetown Street can follow a signed detour that follows Georgetown Road to New Circle Road to Newtown Pike. Traffic on Fourth Street can use Jefferson Street to Main Street to Newtown Pike.
 
Traffic could be congested in the downtown area near Fifth-Third Pavilion at Cheapside Park from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, April 20, for the Lexington Farmers’ Market.
 
Traffic could be congested near Fifth-Third Pavilion at Cheapside Park for Central Bank Thursday Night Live, which will be held from 4:30-8 p.m. Thursday, April 25.
 
The Division of Engineering issued grading permits during the period April 12-18 for the following addresses: 3752 Sunflower Street, 4632 Windstar Way, 3761 Hardwood Road, 1854 Falling Leaves Lane, 1950 Falling Leaves Lane, 2696 Kearney Creek Lane, 767 Winchester Road, 1814 Falling Leaves Lane, 3848 Nadia Drive, 3435 McFarland Lane and 377 White Oak Trace. Permits are issued for six months and can include some blasting.

MAJOR
Georgetown Street will be CLOSED 24 hours a day between Newtown Pike and Booker Street through Wednesday, May 1, to rebuild the Georgetown Road intersection.
 
SIGNIFICANT TRAFFIC IMPACT
The following sections of streets will be blocked as needed from Friday, April 19 through Friday, April 26, for milling and paving:
• Baybrook Road between Plainview Road and Folkstone Drive;
• Blazer Parkway between Yorkshire Boulevard and Prosperous Place;
• Breckenwood Drive between Rebecca Drive and Zandale Drive;
• Clays Spring Lane between Chinoe Road and Clinton Road;
• Clinton Road between Hart Road and Cochran Road;
• Colony Boulevard between Cochran Road and Providence Road;
• Commercial Drive between Eastland Drive and Diaz Alley;
• Courtney Avenue between two sections of Embry Avenue;
• Diaz Alley between Eastland Drive and Commercial Drive;
• East Loudon Avenue between Statesman Way and Winchester Road;
• Eureka Springs Drive between Beaver Creek Drive and Deaton Place;
• Farmview Drive between Edgebrook Drive and East Edgebrook Drive;
• Forest Hill Drive between two sections of Todds Road;
• James Court at Helm Street; Mulberry Drive at Mirahill Drive and Woodhill Drive;
• Prather Road between Hart Road and Clijnton Road;
• Ria Dosa Drive between Bonanza Drive and North Locust Hill Drive.
 
Maple Avenue will be CLOSED at the railroad crossing between East Loudon Avenue and East Seventh Street on Wednesday, April 24, and Thursday, April 25, for maintenance work on the crossing.
 
The right outbound lane of Nicholasville Road will be blocked between Wilson-Downing Road and Tiverton Way from Monday, April 22, through Wednesday, April 24, for cable work.
 
North Limestone Street will be CLOSED at the railroad crossing between East Loudon Avenue and East Seventh Street on Monday, April 22, and Tuesday, April 23, for maintenance work on the crossing.
 
Shropshire Avenue will be CLOSED at the railroad crossing between East Loudon Avenue and East Seventh Street on Monday, April 29, and Tuesday, April 30, for maintenance work on the crossing.
 
The right northbound turn lane of Richmond Road will be blocked at North Locust Hill Drive on Thursday, April 25, for utility work.
 
The right inbound lane of Versailles Road will be blocked at Alexandria Drive on Monday, April 22, and Tuesday, April 23, while concrete is being poured.
 
The right lane of Water Street will be blocked as needed between Hernando Alley and Quality Street on Monday, April 22, and Tuesday, April 23, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to pour concrete at the parking garage.
 
One lane at a time of West Fourth Street will be blocked as needed between Henry Street and Newtown Pike through Wednesday, May 1, to rebuild the Georgetown Street intersection.
 
The right turn lane of West Main Street and the far right lane of North Broadway will be blocked on Tuesday, April 23, for sign maintenance.
 
The right lane of Winchester Road will be blocked between Dayton Avenue and Liberty Road through Friday, May 3, for utility work.
 
DeRoode Street will be CLOSED between Versailles Road and McKinley Street 24 hours a day through December 31, for work on the Newtown Pike extension project. Motorists can access the neighborhood from Merino Street to McKinley Street to Byars Alley.
 
MODERATE TRAFFIC IMPACT
A portion of Carlisle Avenue will be blocked between Bryan Avenue and Oak Hill Drive 24 hours a day through Wednesday, May 1, to install a culvert.
 
Clays Mill Road will be blocked between Cromwell Way and Merrimac Drive through Friday, May 17, for construction work. Inbound traffic will be diverted to the center lane.
 
Lanes of Locust Avenue will be blocked as needed between Oak Hill Drive and Bryan Avenue through Friday, May 31, for utility work.
 
The right lane of Maryland Avenue will be blocked at Jefferson Street from Tuesday, April 23, through Tuesday, April 30, for utility work.
 
Magoffin Avenue will be CLOSED at the railroad crossing between East Loudon Avenue and East Seventh Street on Wednesday, May 1, and Thursday, May 2, for maintenance on the railroad crossing.
 
The sidewalk on the right inbound side of Newtown Pike will be blocked between Georgetown Road and Kennedy Road through Wednesday, April 24, for cable installation.
 
The right lane of South Ashland Avenue will be blocked at East High Street from Monday, April 22, through Monday, April 29, for utility work.
 
The inbound and outbound lanes next to the median of Tates Creek Road will be blocked between Alumni Drive and Malabu Drive through Thursday, April 25, to plant trees in the median.
