LEXINGTON, Ky. (4/25/13)— Twelve schools in FCPS have been designated 2012 National Center for Educational Achievement (NCEA) Higher Performing Schools, which indicates their deep commitment to raising student achievement and putting more youngsters on the path to college and career readiness – regardless of socio-economic barriers or other obstacles.
NCEA found these schools to have consistently outperformed their peers with similar student populations over a three-year period.
Beaumont Middle School
Julius Marks Elementary
Morton Middle School

“These schools stand out as shining examples of what can be achieved when staff, students and parents work together toward a unified goal of preparing students for life after high school,” Angela Hall Watkins of ACT Inc. said in a letter to the Fayette County Public Schools superintendent.
The National Center for Educational Achievement (NCEA) is now part of ACT Inc.
