act prepMARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. (4/8/13) – The National Center for Educational Achievement (NCEA), a department of ACT, Inc., recently recognized the Marshall County School district for having six schools in their district make the 2012 NCEA Higher Performing Schools List.

“We are very pleased to have 6 of the 136 Kentucky schools recognized for Performance and Growth NCEA and ACT. The effort put forth by the staff and students of these schools, along with our other schools, is second to none,” said Trent Lovett, MCSD Superintendent.

According to MCSD Secondary Supervisor Kem Cothran, this latest report is proof positive that Marshall County schools are heading in the right direction. “We are extremely proud of these 6 schools for their success in raising student achievement levels more quickly than schools that enroll similar student populations across the state and of their commitment to excellence and quality in education.”

The (NCEA), a department of ACT, helps educators build capacity within their school systems, and provides research-based resources to support them in their school improvement efforts. In all, 136 schools around the state were given the distinction of Higher Performing School.
