dept corrections 300LYON COUNTY, Ky. (4/11/13) – Scott Jordan, a 12-year veteran of the Department of Corrections, has been promoted to deputy warden at Western Kentucky Correctional Complex (WKCC) in Lyon County. He will begin his new duties on April 16.

Jordan began his DOC career in 2001 as a correctional officer at Kentucky Correctional Institution for Women. He promoted through the security ranks to the position of senior captain, which he has held at both Luther Luckett Correctional Complex (LLCC) and Kentucky State Reformatory (KSR).

"This is not only a great opportunity for Scott but we believe his presence will be a big asset to WKCC,” said Deputy Commissioner James Erwin. “Scott’s strong security background and leadership skills will complement the team already in place at the institution.”

Jordan served as the Internal Affairs Officer at LLCC from 2005-2012, and at KSR since July of 2012. He was also the Security Threat Group Coordinator at LLCC and he has been involved with the department’s Corrections Emergency Response Team (CERT) since 2002. He received a DOC achievement award in 2008.

Prior to his corrections career, Jordan had a lengthy career in retail management. He managed stores, becoming a district manager and a regional manager developing stores in three states. Jordan is also a combat veteran paratrooper with the US Army’s 82nd Airborne Division.

Jordan and his wife Tracey, who is a retired DOC employee, have three children and three grandchildren.
