PADUCAH, Ky. (3/6/13) – On Tuesday, March 5, 2013, detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department Drug Division arrested two Paducah men at their home charging them with various drug offenses.
Detectives continued an investigation from the month of February regarding complaints of drug trafficking in the Forest Hills Subdivision. As the investigation continued, detectives pinpointed another residence responsible for drug sales. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence located at 928 Dundale Road in Paducah.
Detectives executed the warrant at approximately 3:30 on Tuesday afternoon. Tremaine Montgomery (pictured above), Cory Thomas and two juvenile children ages eight and twelve were located inside the residence. Detectives immediately noted the odor of burnt marijuana once inside. During a search of the residence detectives seized approximately 11 ounces (312 grams) of marijuana, digital scales, handgun ammunition and additional items of drug paraphernalia. Some of the marijuana was in areas accessible to the children in the residence (Wanton 2nd). Detectives also seized an undisclosed amount of currency believed to proceeds of drug sales and a flat screen TV (suspected to have been paid for with drug money).
The investigation revealed that Cory Thomas had been selling marijuana for the past year and that Tremaine Montgomery had assisted in selling the marijuana.
Cory Thomas is current out on bond on a McCracken County felony case and was just cited for possession of marijuana last month. Thomas has prior conviction for burglary and cocaine possession.
Both men were lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail. The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are likely.
The Sheriff’s Department was assisted in this investigation by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, The KSP, the ATF and Paducah Police K-9 Unit
