Kentucky State Police Captures Robbery Suspect

(3/6/13) - The Kentucky State Police was contacted by the Paducah Police Department on Tuesday March 5, 2013 at approximately 5:00 AM, requesting assistance on an armed robbery of a cab driver, due to the possibility of other crimes being committed between Jeffersonville, IN and Paducah, KY.
 
After an initial investigation, Byron Peeler, age 43 of Radcliff, KY was arrested and charged with robbery 1st degree (Class B Felony).
 
Peeler had rented a cab from the Checker Club Cab Company in Jeffersonville, IN and was transported to Paducah, KY. Allegedly the cab made several stops along the way. While the cab driver was in Paducah, Peeler robbed the driver and fled on foot.
 
Detectives from the Paducah Police Department located Peeler around 3:30 P.M. and arrested him on a warrant obtained by the Kentucky State Police, without incident.
 
Peeler was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
 
The investigation is continuing by Detective Steve Silfies.
