PADUCAH, Ky. (3/18/13) – On March 16, 2013, at approximately 4:05 PM, a white SUV driven by an unknown driver was westbound in the 8800 block of Blandville Road, which is also U. S. Highway 62 West.
The drivers and witnesses involved said the unknown white SUV crossed over the centerline and was driving towards another SUV, forcing the second eastbound SUV off the roadway. The eastbound SUV was driven by 20-year-old Dillon Ferguson of Wickliffe, Kentucky. Ferguson also had a passenger, 22-year-old Derrick Ferguson of Paducah, Kentucky. Upon driving off the roadway to the right, in an attempt to avoid a head-on collision, Dillon Ferguson lost control of the SUV he was driving and it drove back across the roadway into the path of a westbound pickup truck. The pickup truck was driven by 41-year-old Jason Wildharber of LaCenter, Kentucky. The pickup attempted to stop, but collided with the SUV, forcing both vehicles off the roadway.
Dillon and Derrick Ferguson had to be extricated by mechanical means, by Concord Fire Fighters and Mercy EMS. Dillon Ferguson was transported to Baptist Health Hospital and Derrick Ferguson was air lifted from the scene of the collision by PHI Life Flight Helicopter to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
The SUV that crossed over the center line left the scene. If the public has any information regarding the white medium-sized SUV that left the scene they are urged to contact the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department at 270-444-4719.
