HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (3/18/13) – Beautiful things can happen when a community, residents and businesses alike, come together and work in harmony.
 
During the past two years the residents of the Kelly community held Kelly Clean-Up Day, with two specific purposes in mind, to clean up the streets of trash and to care for a flower garden for residents and visitors to enjoy.
 
This Spring, the same plan will be put in motion. Residents will gather at Kelly Holiness Church at 8:00AM on Saturday, March 23, 2013 to help pick up trash that was carelessly thrown from car windows, blown around in the wind or intentionally dumped. Armed with trash bags and gloves, the community sets out with pride to clean up the mess of others. Also, to be accomplished is a Spring facelift to the community flower garden.
 
"The aesthetic beauty of a community sends a clear message to potential businesses, industry, residents, and visitors that we want them here and that we have pride in our community" says Kelly Community Organization Vice President Joann Smithey.
 
The Kelly Community Organization, Inc would like to thank the residents and volunteers who attend the Kelly Clean-up Days. We appreciate your help and the pride you take in keeping the community clean. The Kelly Community Organization also stated that, to the few who litter… “we are watching you. We will catch you. We will report you!”
 
The Kelly Community Organization would also like to thank the businesses who support this community. Without their generosity, the flower garden would not have been possible. Thank you to Christian County Cares 2015, Mr. Mulch and Lowes of Hopkinsville.
