HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (4/9/13) – On Friday March 29, 2013, a one-year accreditation process culminated with Hopkinsville’s police force receiving a perfect score of 100%.
Law enforcement accreditation is a voluntary, internal process by which organizations seek to achieve, objectively verify, and maintain high quality in their operations through periodic evaluations conducted by an independent body.
This recognition was awarded to the Hopkinsville Police Department by the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police (KACP). KACP accreditation examines agency policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services. The accreditation process included an on-site assessment of the department and making certain the departments policies and procedures were compliant with the 161 standards required to achieve accreditation.
The Hopkinsville Police Department will be reviewed every five years in order to be reaccredited.
