911 dispatchHOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (4/11/13) – The Madisonville-Hopkins County Central Dispatch will be celebrating the week of April 14-20, 2013 as National Public Safety Telecommunications Week.
 
Dispatch is celebrating this week in honor of the dedicated telecommunicators that handle several thousand phone calls each month. Every day, the citizens of Hopkins County depend upon the skill, expertise and commitment of the men and women who work in our Central Dispatch center. These individuals save countless lives by responding to emergency calls, dispatching emergency professionals and providing moral support to citizens in distress.
 
In 2013, the Madisonville-Hopkins County Central Dispatch Center answered 62,380 complaint calls and approximately 16,000 9-1-1 call. Dispatchers also answer several thousand administrative and utility calls monthly.
 
The Communications Center employs 10 full time telecommunicators, 2 part-time and 1 supervisor.

–Kayla Ross – 5 months
–Marlon Qualls – 3 months
