MUHL1MUHLENBERG, Ky. (1/11/13) – It was a standing room only crowd at the Central City Convention Center for Thursday's January meeting of the Greater Muhlenberg Chamber of Commerce.

There were many highlights, including the induction of new officers for 2013, and a massive round of applause for outgoing president Melissa Recke and other officers for 2012.

New chamber president, Gary Jones, spoke, saying "As chamber members, let's take Muhlenberg Pride to a new level this year. Let's commit ourselves to make Muhlenberg County a place people want to visit, live and work. It is truly an honor to serve as president of our Chamber for 2013."

Jones was also excited about the main presentation at the Thursday meeting, as Muhlenberg County High School's STEM Academy students took center stage. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and works to steer local students to advance in these four areas for a better tomorrow in Muhlenberg County.
