Accident Leads to DUI Charges

General Arrest 04 greenblue 300GREENVILLE, Ky. (3/18/13) – The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision involving an impaired driver that occurred in the parking lot of Harkins Station, just west of Greenville, on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at approximately 1:37 p.m.
 
The preliminary investigation revealed that Stephanie D. Townsell, 33 of Greenville, KY, was operating a 2012 Chrysler 200 passenger car southbound through the Harkins Station parking lot when she lost control of the vehicle and struck a pole.

Ms. Townsell, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital where she was treated and released. She was determined to be under the influence of canned, compressed air; commonly referred to as “dusting” and charged with the following offenses:
1. DUI 1st Offense
2. Operating on a Suspended/Revoked Operator’s License
3. Failure of Non-Owner to Maintain Required Insurance

She was lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.

Trooper Craig Engler conducted the investigation. Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
