award DylanMUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (4/26/13) - A crowd of parents, families and friends were gathered at the Wendell H. Ford Government Education Center in Owensboro on Thursday, April 25, 2013, for the Regional Academic All-Star Awards Ceremony.

The Regional Academic All-Star Awards is basically where youths from each participating county are nominated for awards for categories of arts, math, English, science, foreign language, social studies and journalism. One student from each school can be nominated for these events. Being a nominee for these awards is a very notable achievement in itself.

Muhlenberg nominees were:

–Dylan Graham - Journalism
–Miranda Lear - Arts
–Dylan Stewart - Math
–Josh Durall - English
–Evan Whitmer - Science
–NaTasha Drake - Foreign Language
–Aliah Fueller - Social Studies
 
The actual winners per category were:

–Arts - Emily Davis - Owensboro High School
–Math - Dutch Dohernwend - Owensboro High School
–English - Ella Shipp - Daviess County High School
–Science - Jeff Keeley - Owensboro High School
–Foreign Language - Austin Richards - Apollo
–Social Studies - (Tie) Phillip Lanz - Owensboro High School - Kyle Schroader - Ohio County High School
–Journalism - Morgan Carrico - Daviess County High School
