Annual Career and Technical Education Open House

career tech 300HENDERSON, KY (11/17/12) – Though the theme has been modified slightly, the purpose is still the same. “Growing Community and Educational Partnerships” is the theme for the 5th Annual Henderson County High School Career and Technical Education Open House to be held on Thursday, December 6, 2012.

Nearly forty (40) Henderson County existing businesses will partner with Henderson County High School Career and Technical Education Unit (CTE) from 10:15 a.m. to 3:25 p.m. to visit with students in the auxiliary gym to share information on what they do and what they expect from future employees. From 4:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. parents/guardians and the public are invited to take a tour of the CTE classrooms and meet with staff members to gain more knowledge about the programs available to students.

Victor Doty, Director of the CTE Unit, along with Henderson County High School staff, would like to remind us of the objectives of the partnerships between the high school, existing business and the community:

1) Provide Henderson County existing businesses an opportunity to see and learn what the Career and Technical Education has to offer them;
2) Provide the Career and Technical Education students the opportunity to find out what our existing businesses do and what it would take to work for them;
3) Provide parents/guardians and the community the opportunity to become familiar with the existing businesses;
4) Provide the high school an opportunity to receive input from existing businesses on what they need from the school.

The CTE Unit, along with the entire staff at Henderson County High School, cordially invites the public to attend the December 6th Open House to see what great educational opportunities are available to Henderson County High School students in the area of electrical, automotive, Information Technology (IT), carpentry, graphic arts, nursing, and commercial foods, to name a few.
