yonts d 300FRANKFORT, Ky. (1/14/13) – Approximately $345,000 in projects and services for the Pennyrile region were approved by the legislative Government Contract Review Committee today.

Rep. Brent Yonts, D- Greenville, a member and former chairman of the committee, said $250,000 will be used to pay operational costs at the Christian County Trilogy Center for Women, which helps women in drug and alcohol abuse recovery. The funding will come from federal sources.

For Hopkins County, the committee approved $20,000 in coal severance funding including $10,000 for the Madisonville Community College for the School Counts Program and $5,000 each to the Manitou and St. Charles fire departments to pay debt on a pumper truck and for equipment and a new storage building respectively.
