MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (3/7/13) – The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (“Medicare”) has notified Muhlenberg Community Hospital (“MCH”) that the Medicare termination notice and pending action is rescinded.
Official written notice from Medicare was received Friday, March 01, 2013.
On Monday, February 25, Medicare informed the hospital that the credible allegation of compliance, also known as a plan of correction, was acceptable. A follow up, onsite State survey was conducted February 26 and 27, which confirmed the deficiencies had been corrected.
“No interruption in services or patient care occurred. We appreciate the opportunity to work with the State Survey Agency and Medicare to review these deficiencies and to make improvements in patient care,” stated John Countzler, CEO. “The employees and Medical Staff of Muhlenberg Community Hospital are committed to providing safe, quality health care to all patients. We value the sacred trust and the confidence that the citizens of Muhlenberg County and surrounding communities place in MCH to meet their health care needs.”
