Henderson Police Report Recent Activity

hend police arrest3 300HENDERSON, Ky. (5/20/13) – Today the Henderson Police Department reported recent investigations, including:

At 2:55 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, Henderson Police arrested Nicholas Christian in the 1200 block of Helm Street. He was charged with Second Degree Escape after allegedly escaping custody at the Henderson County Detention Facility one day earlier.

At 12:10 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, Henderson Police responded to report of stolen property at a residence in the 200 block of S. Alves Street. According to authorities, a woman at the residence told police two television sets had been stolen sometime between May 14 and May 18. Police said there are suspects in the ongoing investigation. The televisions are valued at less than $500.

At 11 p.m. on Friday, May 17, Henderson Police responded to report of a theft in the 2500 block of N. Elm St. Authorities said a woman contacted them to report her wallet had been stolen from a vehicle. The wallet reportedly held a substantial amount of cash. Other items were allegedly taken from the vehicle as well, including a debit card, a CD player, and various documents. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Henderson Police Department at 270-831-1295 or Henderson County Crimestoppers at 270-831-1111.

At 2:35 p.m. on Friday, May 17, Henderson Police responded to Methodist Hospital, where they arrested an Evansville, Ind., man. Authorities charged Donald Eapman, age unknown, with alcohol intoxication in a public place, and alleged that while in custody, Eapman “threatened to blow up the Henderson Police Department.” He was then charged with Second Degree Terroristic Threatening.

At 11:35 a.m. on Friday, May 17, Henderson Police responded to report of an automobile accident at the intersection of N. Green St. and Richardson Ave. According to authorities, Margaret Dowell, 74, Henderson, was driving south in the 1700 block of N. Green St. when she apparently struck John Billings, 38, Henderson, as Billings apparently slowed for traffic. The impact of the collision then pushed Billings’ vehicle into a third unidentified vehicle. Authorities said the third vehicle left the scene before police arrived. Two passengers in Dowell’s vehicle were taken by ambulance to Methodist Hospital in Henderson for treatment of possible injuries.
