Dawson Springs Fun Weekend
Dawson Springs will be having a Fun Weekend from May 24- May 25, 2013 at Riverside Park from 10:00am-6:00pm  Come out and see the Whizzers, antique bicycles from the 40's.  Participants come from as far as Florida, Pennsylvania and Texas.  A 25-mile ride will start at 10am.  Come to Riverside Park at 12pm for the start of the displays.  A community spaghetti supper will be held on Friday evening from 5 - 7pm at the Community Center.  Whizzers will be on display for judging and trophies will be awarded.  Riverside Park will host the swap meet and Whizzer drags beginning at 11:00am.  Event fee is $10.00 (For any and all events).

Moonlight Canoe Trip
Dawson Springs will be having a Moonlight Canoe Trip on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 8:00pm- 10:00pm. at the Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park. During this trip, the almost full moon will be used to guide canoes over the water to see what nighttime creatures are using the lake. Trips will last about two hours on the water. Bring water, bug spray, and flashlight. Registration fee is $20 per canoe. Participants must be 10 years old or older. Participants must register one week before the canoe trip. Only six canoes are available.

Dixie Pan Hosts Relay for Life Yard Sale
The team, Believers Seeking a Divine Cure will be having a yard sale this Saturday May 25, 2013.

To help support and raise money for Relay for Life, the yard sale will take place at the Dixie Pan Restaurant parking lot located US Highway 41 A North, Nortonville. The yard sale will start at 7:00am.

People from around the community have donated a little of everything. One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.

The Oasis Southwest Grill Cornhole Tournament
Oasis Southwest Grill will be hosting their first annual Cornhole Tournament Saturday, May 25, 2013, located on 540 Powell Drive, Madisonville. Registration and warm-ups start at 12:00pm – 1:00pm. Tournament starts at 1:30pm. Its $40 per team entry fee (bring your own partner); 80% pay out to top 3 places. Tournament is a double elimination, winner bracket best of 3 games, losers bracket one and done. “Beat the Manager,” a contestants name will be drawn to play the manager. There will also be a live music for this event.

Oak Grove Tourism’s 6th Annual Spring Into Summer Festival
The Oak Grove Tourism's 6th Annual Spring into Summer Festival will begin Saturday May 25th at noon and conclude at 9pm at 101 Walter Garrett Lane, Oak Grove Ky, Sunday May 26th will also begin at noon and conclude at 6pm. Carnival rides will open at noon. Stage shows will begin around 12:30. The merchandise vendors will be open for business by noon as well, food vendors will also be on site and ready for business by noon. Saturday the festivities will end with a concert with country star Joe Nichols headlining the concert set to begin at 7pm. The fireworks show will begin at the conclusion of the concert and all will be over by 9pm. Sunday is a more mild day with carnival rides, and family stage shows to begin at noon and conclude at 6pm. All of the activities are offered FREE to both civilian and military attendees.  The only cost is merchandise and food vendors.

15th Annual Take Kids Fishing Day
The North Fork Little River Committee in cooperation with the Pennyrile Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) Council, Inc., Jeffers Bend Steering Committee and other sponsors will host the 15th annual Take Kids Fishing Day from 9:00a.m. to 12:00pm at Jeffers Bend Environmental Center and Botanical Gardens located on Highway 41A North on Metcalfe Lane in Hopkinsville. The 2013 fishing event will involve about 850 kids and 750 adults coming together at Jeffers Bend in Hopkinsville for three hours of family fun in which youngsters ages 3 to 15 fish for prizes. The prizes will be awarded in the four age groups of 3-5, 6-8, 9-11 and 12-15 for the smallest, largest and most fish caught. The prizes will include 22 new bicycles, fishing equipment, outdoor chairs, etc. Admission: $2.00 in advance/$3.00 day of event.

Scavenger Hunt – Military Appreciation Day at Christian Way Farm
Military Appreciation Day sponsored by Ft. Campbell Armed Services YMCA at Christian Way Farm & Mini Golf Scavenger Hunt with Military ID (active duty and retired) with a nice grand prize.  Door prizes throughout the day.  Discounted rates for farm admission and mini golf for Military ID.  Free food for all visitors! This event is located at 19590 Linville Road.

Bremen Community Memorial Day Service
The annual Bremen Community Memorial Day service will be on Monday, May 27.This event, will be honoring military men and women that gave their lives for our freedom, as well as those that are serving now, will be held at the Bethlehem Cemetery on HWY 175 near Bremen. The memorial will take place at 10:00am. This event is open to the public.
