aloadofturkey 300KENTUCKY (7/17/13) - Hello again! I hope everyone has had a blessed week. There has, sadly, been another tragedy in the outdoors this week. I have to ask that everyone takes necessary precautions to be safe while out in the woods and on the water.

Recently I explained how I was personally injured in a woodlands accident. Just to keep our readers updated, my leg is beginning the slow healing process after my accident.

God has blessed us once again with some beautiful weather this week. There have been a lot of great days to just get out and kick it in the sticks. Whether you enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, hiking or just being out in the fresh country air, the weather has been very nice.

With summer being in full swing and everyone out enjoying their boats on the water and swimming, the fish prefer to go to the ledges out in the deeper water. During the night when the lakes are calm and look like a plate of glass, the fish will move up into the shallows to feed.

A place that I enjoy fishing at night is Kentucky Lake. I will unload my boat at the Kentucky Dam Marina boat ramp and fish the breaker wall before hitting the main lake. Then I like to slide down a couple of bays to Sled Creek. I will usually start at the mouth of the bay and work my way down the edge. Lots of bass are caught in this bay year after year.

If you fish it during the daylight, you get the extra amazement of the beautiful homes in this area. We all talk about our dream homes. I guess my dream home would be a home like some of those, but set back on a huge farm with my own lake. I would definitely be kicking it in the sticks.

Well folks, no matter where you are or what you do for a living, take time to go out and enjoy some of God's Great Outdoors. It is the best medicine a Doctor could ever give to cure your problems.

Until next week, God bless and be safe!
