Celebrate National Dog Day

dog 300KENTUCKY (8/26/13) – Celebrated on August 26 annually, National Dog Day serves to help stimulate the public to recognize the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year.
 
This day also acknowledges family dogs and dogs that work selflessly each day to save lives, keep us safe and bring us comfort.
 
Dogs put their lives on the line every day, for their blind companion, law enforcement partner, a disable child, for our safety and freedom by detecting drugs, bombs, and pulling victims from tragic events.
 
Founded back in 2004 by Celebrity Pet Lifestyle Expert and Animal Behaviorist, Colleen Paige, National Dog Day was created to honor for more than what they currently do, to give them “a day,” to show how much we appreciate their endearing patience, unquestioning loyalty, for their work, their capacity for love and their ability to impact our lives every day.
 
National Dog Day encourages dog owners of all breeds and embraces the opportunities for all dogs to live a happy, safe and “abuse-free life.”
 
Millions of dogs are killed each year because they are unwanted or abused. These creatures are wonderful and viable sentient beings who deserve respect, love and safety.
 
One should consider adopting on National Dog Day.
