Commemorative Book Free to Korean War Veterans

korea rebornFRANKFORT Ky. (11/10/13) - The Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs (KDVA) invites Kentucky’s Korean War veterans to pick up their free copy of a beautiful hardbound, 160-page coffee-table book entitled Korea Reborn: A Grateful Nation Honors War Veterans for 60 Years of Growth. The book is available at KDVA headquarters in Frankfort beginning Tuesday, Nov. 12.

The issuance of the book is part of the congressional resolution designating 2012-2013 as the Year of the Korean War Veteran and recognizing the 60th anniversary of the Korean War.

Funding for the book was provided by the South Korean public and private sectors.

“We would like every Korean War veteran in Kentucky interested in this book to receive a copy,” said Ken Lucas, commissioner of KDVA. “We are unfortunately unable to mail copies to veterans, but they will be available at KDVA field offices around the state.”

The Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs is located at 1111B Louisville Rd. in Frankfort, on the lower level of the National Guard Association building.
