CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (4/29/13) – Lunchtime traffic was backed up more than usual on South 2nd Street Monday, April 29th in Central City.

A large truck filled with tires headed to Pace Tire Company in Central City made an unexpected "truck stop" when the driver attempted drive under the 11 feet 8 inches clearance railroad overpass.

Although the official report had not been filed prior to this report, Central City Police Chief Brent Robertson was on the scene. Robertson told SurfKY News that the truck filled with tires, belonged to Robison Tire Company in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.

"It failed to yield to the clearance warning signs. We were behind him and tried to get him to stop, but he didn't see us. We could tell just from looking that he couldn't make it under there." Chief Robinson said.

The overpass has been the cause of many a stuck truck throughout the years, even though it is clearly marked.
