7bridges 300GREENVILLE, Ky. (7/8/13) – Hundreds of Muhlenberg County citizens brought their lawn chairs, their families and friends, along with their appreciation of the music group, The Eagles, on Saturday night, ready to rock the night away with 7 bridges. The band performed last year and was voted by Saturday on the Square attendees as "Best Band of the First 4 Years" of this hugely popular weekly summer event.

From the first chords booming out over courthouse square at 8 p.m., many were on their feet, clapping and singing along to "Witchy Woman", "Life's Been Good" and "Lying Eyes". Band leader Jason Manning then noted that the next song was "Ladies' Choice" and suddenly the sidewalk in front of the band turned into a dance floor.

In an earlier interview with SurfKY Reporters, Manning explained that 7 bridges formed in 2008. “Last year's show was perfect,” said Manning. We loved playing in Greenville and look forward to another great show there."

Last year's show, unfortunately, was cut short due to severe health problems with one of the sound technicians. History, in a way, unfortunately repeated itself this year. Just as the group launched into yet another fantastic Eagles tune, black clouds and lightning began to move closer and closer to the downtown Greenville area. Finally, about 45 minutes into the show, just when everyone was gearing up for another 2 hours of 7 Bridges, officials warned of the bad weather moving in and the plug was pulled for safety reasons. Most attendees quickly headed for their cars.

Meanwhile, the group packed up, and Manning told reporters, "We are on our way to concert dates in Pennsylvania and Connecticut."

For those who may want to make one more attempt to check out a complete show from 7 Bridges, the group will be back in Western Kentucky July 27th for Bowling Green's National Corvette Homecoming, performing at the Sloan Convention Center, 1021 Wilkinson Trace.

This Saturday night, July 13th, Saturday on the Square presents “Oldies Night” to compliment the Twi-Light Drive In Antique Car Show. The Greenville Tourism Commission is pleased to welcome a new band to Greenville, The Nashville Blue Tones. This group is one of Nashville Tennessee’s premier dance and variety bands. The Nashville Blue Tones are a nationally acclaimed ensemble that specializes in many genres, but for this event, they have customized a very special 50s/60s song list. Band members have performed or recorded with famous musicians such as Roy Orbison, Barbara and Louise Mandrell, George Jones, Chet Atkins, Shania Twain and more!
