MADISONVILLE, KY (9/30/13) – On Saturday, Sept. 28, over 25 vendors lined the parking lot of McCay Chiropractic on South Main Street in Madisonville.

The purpose of the event was to raise funds for donation to Relay for Life, in their ongoing search for a cure for cancer. Among those with booths at the event was Tupperware, Bows by Mommy, Scentsy, Candle House, Cookies for Kids Cancer, Reba’s Wreaths, Advocare, Princess Designs, Pink Zebra, Jen’s Butterfly Bows, March of Dimes, Premier Jewelry, It Works, Avon, Damar, Cornerstorne Family Health, ACE, Soul Sister Creations, the Hopkins County-Madisonville Library, Sew Cute Boutique, This Little Sign of Mine, and others.
Local author Matt Hughes was on the scene selling and autographing his books as well.
Also on the scene, selling lemonade, was Kenzie Marks, a local little girl who stood strong in her own battle against cancer, and won.
“One thing that makes everything worthwhile is Ms. Kenzie,” said Shanda Hughes, spokesperson for McCay Chiropractic. “Kenzie and her family raised $365.00 at our event today, and they also had a second group at another local event. In total, they raised $625.00, to which the groups that helped them turning $1.00 to $3.00, making their grand total at $1875.”
Hughes went on to express that she, and the staff of McCay Chiropractic, wished to thank the vendors and the people who assisted in setting up. “These people are what makes these events, and most everyone I know has been touched in some way by cancer, so what better group to benefit then Relay for Life.”
