OWENSBORO, Ky. (8/26/13) – Despite an early morning rain, the warm sun and cool breeze made for the perfect environment at Friday’s Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic fundraiser.

With 144 slots available to play in the event, the sold-out day-long tournament offered participants as well as sponsors the opportunity to mingle along the course. Several sponsors on the path offered snacks and sandwiches, while others offered prizes and rewards for their participation.
 
The golf classic began around 7:30, as sponsors and organizers arrived to set up their booths just before the brief rain. The last players finished up about 2:30 Friday afternoon.

Tournament winners included Nick Knapp and Nathan Cruse of VE Creative and Clay Ford and Paul Clements of E.M. Ford and Company.
 
SurfKY News was glad to be a sponsor for one of the holes, even though no one won the $10,000 hole-in-one grand prize.
