lets talk sex 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (8/30/13) -- "Let's talk about sex, baby. Let's talk about you and me." Those are popular lyrics from an early '90s hit released by hip-hop group, Salt-n-Pepa. But, this musical group isn’t the only ones who are facilitating a discussion of the topic.

Pleasant Valley Community Church has posted three billboards around Owensboro promoting their upcoming sermon series: "Let's Talk About Sex."

"We live in a culture that is absolutely saturated with sex," Pleasant Valley's Pastor, Jamus Edwards, said.

According to Edwards, "Our goal is not to shock, and our goal certainly is not to offend."

Instead, Pleasant Valley's intent is to make a point and to educate the community. Sexuality is a topic that affects everyone, and according to Pastor Jamus, those who are communicating about sex are typically the least credible.

"We are not ashamed to say on a billboard or sermon series, 'Let's talk about sex,' because in the Bible, God says, 'Let's talk about sex,'" said Edwards. "What we want to do is reclaim what God made to be a beautiful thing, to be enjoyed in the context of marriage."
