GRADDOWENSBORO, Ky. (9/18/13) – The Green River Workforce Investment Board (WIB) Local Plan for program years 2013-2014 is now available for public review and comment.

All local WIBs are required to submit comprehensive action plans to the Kentucky Department of Workforce Investment’s Office of Employment and Training (OET) in order to receive funding under the federal Work Investment Act (WIA).

The plan establishes overall regional workforce development goals and details specific operational strategies for providing services to employers, employees and job seekers.

The Green River WIB is responsible for setting policy with regard to the workforce investment system of the seven-county GRADD region. They partner with the local elected officials of Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio, Union and Webster counties and with the GRADD Board of Directors to improve the area’s employment and training system, with the goal of enhancing the quality of the workforce.
