Foundation for DCPS to Hold 3K Fundraiser

dcps foundation 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (4/7/14) — The Foundation for Daviess County Public Schools has announced details for its upcoming DCPS Alumni and Friends 3K fundraising event.

The race, which will be held Aug. 30 at Yellow Creek Park in Owensboro, will support local schools. According to information provided by the Foundation, the money will specifically go toward “funding to enhance education through Foundation innovation grants to schools such as Focus Awards and providing matching funds for grants like ONB Foundation's Scholar’s Program.”

Individuals and groups can pre-register through Aug. 15.

“Groups with 20 or more participants, which can include employees and families, pay only $10 per person to participate. Early registrations (before Aug. 15) are guaranteed a dri-fit t-shirt. Last year, some local companies paid for sponsorship and employee/family participation and some simply encouraged their employees to participate,” the foundation stated in a news release.

The Foundation for Daviess County Public Schools serves more than 11,000 children.
