Halloween Fest CoverHENDERSON, Ky. (10/18/13) - The Henderson Depot Community Room is gearing up for another history-filled tour of the city, and this weekend they’ll be showing their Halloween Spirit with the an-nual Spooks and Legends Walking Tour. The guided tour will take guests through downtown Hender-son highlighting historical buildings, and relaying myths, legends, and true stories about Henderson’s past.

Henderson was established in 1797 with many influential events taking place adding rich history to an already culture-filled western Kentucky. Henderson also has a very long history of Indian burial grounds, dating back more than 200 years, according to Depot Events Coordinator Donna Spencer. Ghost sightings in historic Henderson houses and other legends have risen over the years and the walk-ing tour will showcase all of the spooky history.

The Spooks & Legends Walking Tour will have actors portraying important Henderson characters from Confederate soldiers to an 1800’s prankster with a gruesome story. Spencer explained because of the Halloween theme, the tour is meant for adults and may be too scary to young children.

“We have a lot of fun with this tour…we’re looking forward to a fun and beautiful day,” Spencer said.

The Spooks and Legends Walking Tour is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. and again at 4 p.m. Tickets are $5. For more information, Click Here.
