MADISONVILLE, Ky. (7/13/13) - Temperatures in the 80s, a light breeze, the smell of pork chops, popcorn and an evening of entertainment lured a large crowd out to Madisonville's Friday Night Live Friday, July 12 around the courthouse square.
The Larry Grishom & The Beat Daddys swept the crowd to its feet with its rhythm and blues. Concertgoers swayed to the music or tapped their toes in their seats as the band played. After a brief intermission in entertainment, Brad McCrady performed as "Elvis," bringing back the 50s through the 70s of Presley's career.
The final act was Guitar Center Battle of The Blues winner and Madisonville native Boscoe France with The Boscoe France Band.
Madisonville-Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce beer garden was blooming over with people, and families strolled around the square visiting various booths and tables set up by local businesses and organizations.
Balloons, hair painting, notebooks, ink pens and animal balloons were popular with the children. Many enjoyed slushies, popcorn, burgers and lemon shake ups as the July Friday Night Live event offered entertainment and activities from 6 to 10 p.m.
