WKU Education Graduate Selected as Master Teacher

wku newsBOWLING GREEN, Ky. (7/17/13) - Christa Lemily, a graduate of WKU’s College of Education and Behavioral Sciences and a math teacher at South Warren Middle School, was selected as a Master Teacher by the BetterLesson online company.

Lemily was one of only 28 teachers selected nationally. She will have a one-year contract to create and upload eighth-grade curriculum of lesson plans, assessments, videos and student samples that can be accessed by math teachers throughout the country.

Lemily received her bachelor’s and master’s degree from WKU. She has taught in the Warren County Public Schools for seven years and is the 2011 Campbellsville University Excellence in Teaching Award winner.

BetterLesson Company was created to connect educators and help them create, organize and share their curricula. Every educator regardless of school location, resources or demographics should have access to the best instructional content in the world. The Master Teacher Project is a natural outgrowth of BetterLesson’s mission to connect teachers in order to measurably improve instruction. The Project aims to create Common Core-aligned, yearlong courses, units and lessons. This content will be freely available to teachers everywhere beginning with math, grades 6-12.
