Two Injured after Vehicle Collision

wreck 01GREENVILLE, Ky. (11/6/13) — The drivers of two vehicles were injured after a collision at the intersection of Kentucky 189, Greene Drive and Dean Road about 9:27 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6.

Greenville Police reports that Calvin W. Utterback, 74, of Beechmont was headed north on Kentucky 189 in a maroon 2000 Ford Mustang while Melissa A. Hocker, 37, also of Beechmont was attempting to cross the highway headed to Dean Road in a black 2006 Chevy Impala.

Witnesses told GPD that Utterback ran the red traffic light and his vehicle struck the left side of Hocker's vehicle. While Utterback appeared confused, intoxication was not suspected, the report said.

Both were transported to Muhlenberg Community Hospital via Muhlenberg Medical Services ambulance.

The Greenville Fire Department and Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene. Officer Darren Harvey is in charge of the investigation.
