breaking news shooting gunOWENSBORO, Ky. (3/28/13) – A 38-year-old Owensboro man was taken to Owensboro Health after being shot at his home in the 600 block of Poplar St. Wednesday night.

Authorities said the victim was standing on the front porch at his house at approximately 8:15 p.m. when a man approached him demanding money. The victim then attempted to run from the perpetrator but was shot once in the chest. Police said his injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

The suspect was seen leaving the scene of the incident in a gray Dodge Charger with a second man. The suspect and the driver of the vehicle are described as African American between 20 and 24 years of age.
