UPDATE: Owensboro Man Faces 60 Counts in Child Pornography Investigation

ARREST WRIGHTOWENSBORO, Ky. (4/26/13) – At 4 p.m. on Thursday, Detective Jason Pagan charged Robert L. Wright with 60 counts of Possession of Matter Portraying Sexual Performance by Minor, which is a Class D Felony. Authorities said the charges stemmed from a cursory search of various computer components. Additional charges are likely as extensive searches continue.

Wright, 46, Owensboro, was arrested Tuesday after the Kentucky State Police and Owensboro Police Department served a search warrant at his home.

He was initially charged with Distribution of Matter Portraying a Sexual Performance by a Minor, which is a class D felony. Authorities said he was arrested without incident at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday and taken to the Daviess County Detention Center.

Wright was charged by the Kentucky State Police ICAC Task Force as a result of an undercover investigation into the possession and distribution of videos/images of child sexual exploitation. The investigation began on March 27, which resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Wright’s residence in Owensboro on April 23, by the Kentucky State Police ICAC Task Force; Post 16 detectives; DE/SI detectives and Owensboro Police Department units. Detectives allegedly seized evidence that was being used to distribute child pornography and further examination is needed.

More charges on Wright are expected to be filed as early as tomorrow as investigators search additional computer components.

Kentucky State Police is a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC).
