Owensboro Man Arrested on Armed Robbery Charges

arrest  butlerOWENSBORO, Ky. (5/16/13) – This morning at approximately 1:20 a.m., the Owensboro Police Department responded to an armed robbery call at the Hampton Inn, located at 615 Salem Drive.
 
Responding units spoke with the desk clerk, who advised that a male subject allegedly entered the business armed with a rifle and demanded money. After an undisclosed amount of money was given, the subject then fled on foot. An Owensboro Police Department K-9 unit performed a track of the suspect, which led units to the area of Chuck Gray Court. A traffic stop was performed on a vehicle in the area, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
 
Mark Butler, 25, was lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center on charges of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and First Degree Robbery.
