Chamber Welcomes Web Design Firm as New Member

OWENSBORO, Ky. (8/29/13) – A business that’s been around Owensboro since 2008 was celebrated for its membership in the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday.

Barkley Technologies, a web design firm that specializes in helping businesses and organizations with designing websites, began as a hobby for owner Ryan Barkley.
 
“I started when I was doing a church website at 13,” Barkley said following Tuesday’s ribbon cutting ceremony, noting the church was in Arizona, where he lived at the time.
 
His family eventually moved back to Kentucky, where Barkley secured a business license about five years ago.
 
During the ribbon cutting, Barkley provided a brief presentation on his business and the services he offers. He told the group he could do free consultations for any local agency that would like his input about their company’s or organization’s website.
 
Barkley said making sure a website has a mobile component is paramount., noting that it’s been determined about half of the people who visit a site online won’t stay on the site if it’s not mobile friendly.
 
Barkley Technologies also offers advice on marketing, social media, and brand development, Barkley said.
