Up Close and Personal with OSO Musicians

Owensboro Symphony logo 201OWENSBORO, Ky. (5/2/14) —Like symphony music? Ever wonder why musicians wear black?

Join the Owensboro Symphony Academy and musician Kirsten Ahnell for its new educational and community program exploring all things symphony.

This one-hour program is the perfect way to learn more about classical music and the best ways to enjoy it - from conversations with the musicians to how they practice to why they wear black and many more topics.

The program will also feature music by Brahms, Beethoven and other composers with refreshments served afterwards by the Owensboro Symphony Alliance.

Featured musicians include: Paula Humphreys, flute, Tracy Day, oboe, Kirsten Ahnell, clarinet, Schuyler Slack, cello and Garnet Ungar, piano.

The event is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8 at the Owensboro Symphony Academy.

Tickets are available at the door: Adults - $10, children under 12 - $5.
