LEXINGTON, Ky. (4/25/13) – The University of Kentucky led the Southeastern Conference with 57 student-athletes on the SEC Winter Sports Academic Honor Roll announced by SEC Commissioner Mike Slive.

UK’s honorees included five players from men’s basketball, three from women’s basketball, eight gymnasts, eight from the rifle team, 19 from men’s swimming and 14 women’s swimmers.

A total of 474 student-athletes from around the league earned a spot on the honor roll, which is based on grades from the 2012 Spring, Summer and Fall terms. In order to make the SEC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have a 3.0 grade-point average for the preceding academic year or his/her entire collegiate career, be at least a sophomore in academic standing, and meet additional qualifications.
