basic football2 300OWENSBORO, Ky, (11/9/13) - Owensboro Catholic will advance to the second round in the playoffs with their victory the Crittenden County Rockets. The Aces dominated the game on both sides of the ball and won convincingly 50 - 7.

Owensboro Catholic's senior quarterback Houston Hartz tossed seven touchdowns in the first half of the Aces victory. Hartz was able spread the around connecting with six different receivers for touchdowns. Senior wide out Ryan Clark for the Aces was the only receiver to have two touchdowns, which included a 50 yard toss.

"We really worked hard this week and we wanted to send a message to our next oppo-nent," senior receiver Joseph Mills said.

The Aces held the shutout until late in fourth quarter, when the Rockets offense drove the ball down the field and scored. Owensboro Catholic's defensive starters did not allow Crittenden County to sustain drives and forced the Rockets to punt consistently.

"We were ready to play and we were really focused tonight. We got a good start to playoffs, but we need to fine tune some things to get better," Owensboro Catholic's Head coach John Edge told SurfKY News.

Owensboro Catholic will be home next week; the opponent will be named later this week.
