child crime2 300LEWISPORT, Ky. (6/9/14) — A Hancock County woman was arrested on charges related to child sexual abuse June 4 after Kentucky State Police served a search warrant at her home.

Rebecca Gibbs, 24, is charged with two counts of sodomy first and 1 count of fugitive from another state. She was lodged in the Breckenridge County Jail.

Gibbs was arrested as the result of an ongoing Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. Detectives with the KSP Electronic Crime Branch began investigating Gibbs after learning she was possibly producing and distributing images of child sexual exploitation.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Gibbs’ residence in Lewisport Wednesday, June 4 by the KSP Electronic Crime Branch. Troopers from Post 16 in Henderson assisted on scene. Electronic equipment was seized and taken to KSP’s Forensic Laboratory for examination.

The investigation is currently ongoing and additional charges are expected.
